Charities

Rupert and his family were looked after by some wonderful people during his short life. The charities below supported us all throughout our journey and continue to play an important role in our lives. Without them we wouldn't have had the precious six months that we had together. Please click on the links below and visit their websites for further information.

Rupert spent the first three months of his life at the Evelina Children's Hospital in London. We will forever be grateful for their outstanding medical expertise and incredible staff.

The Freya Foundation is a wonderful charity that supports families and raises awareness for the condition PDH. Their care, understanding and knowledge helped us to navigate our journey.

Ronald McDonald House Charities provide accomodation for parents and families of sick children at specialist hospitals. Thanks to them we were able to stay just a short walk away from Rupert for the three months he was at the Evelina, surrounded by the most welcoming and supportive staff.

Demelza delivers extraoridinary care to children facing serious or life-limiting conditions. They were a constant support to the whole family, from transitioning us from hospital to home, home visits, days out to make memories, a specialised baby group and supporting us in the most difficult of times when we stayed in the bereavement suite with Rupert. Demelza continue to support us now and hold remembrance events throughout the year.

4Louis is a charity that works across the country to support anyone affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and the death of a baby or child. They work hard to improve the care bereaved familes receive from health care and other professionals. We will always be grateful for the memory box they provided us with when we had to say goodbye to Rupert’s little brother, Leo.
